This unusual scale features a large, round dial that forms an outer ring around the weighing surface. When an ingredient such as flour is added to the clear plastic weighing bowl, the dial can be turned back to 0 and more ingredients added, a boon for recipes that give weights instead of volumes. When full, the bowl holds approximately two quarts or liters; when empty, it inverts to fit snugly over the scale and protect it from dust. Any bowl may be used on the scale’s wide platform.
